You Are Invited to the Urban Monk Lenten Vigil
at the Urban Monk Café
on Saturday, February 18 at 6 pm.

The Urban Monk Café will pop-up again just days before Lent begins as an opportunity for urban monks to come and participate in ancient Christian traditions of soul searching and preparation for public ministry that distinguishes the Season of Lent. Our vigil will incorporate several spiritual practices that will help integrate Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness into our lives as a means of preparation for our own public ministries after Lent.

In the midst of our vigil, we will enjoy a meal filled with hot foods and salads. Please bring some appetizers, drinks, or desserts to compliment the evening.

Where: Chefs Center, 45 N. San Gabriel Blvd., Pasadena

When: Saturday, February 18 at 6 pm

A vigil in the tradition of the Society of Urban Monks is an integrative experience for persons involved in community service and who are committed to integrating their experiences of service into their spiritual lives. During the vigil, various spiritual practices become integrative tools that include the Examination of Conscience in the spirit of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Lectio Divina in the tradition of St. Benedict, monastic chanting and readings of psalms, the meditative singing of Taizé hymns, and other spiritual practices.
